BRIGHTON LITTLE THEATRE
| Brighton Little Theatre presents 10 productions a year, anything from Shakespeare to Sondheim, in our 75-seat studio theatre in central Brighton. We also have a vibrant youth theatre, which mounts one large scale production each year. We visit Lewes Castle annually, and always welcome new members. |
BRIGHTON THEATRE GROUP
| Founded in 1968 by Mavis Ward, the society is predominantly a musical society producing shows such as Cabaret, Sweet Charity, Oliver, Sweeney Todd and West Side Story. A young and vibrant group - new members are always welcome. |
CUCKFIELD DRAMATIC SOCIETY
| The Society was reborn in 1995 after a gap of over 20 years. It stages two major productions a year at the Queen's Hall, Cuckfield and organises social events throughout the year, including club nights on the second Tuesday of the month. New members always welcome. |
HURSTPIERPOINT PLAYERS
| We are proud to own the theatre in the High Street where we put on three or four productions a year, from Shakespeare to the Theatre of the Absurd plus a pantomime. We have a flourishing Junior Section under the guidance of qualified teachers. New members and directors always welcome. |
NEW VENTURE THEATRE COMPANY
| New Venture provides a varied season of 9 or 10 plays each year alongside classes and other events. The Club has a bar and public licence for their adaptable studio theatre seating about 60 and 80. The "praescenium arch" main house theatre is currently being re-developed. The Company welcomes all new members. |
REACT THEATRE PRODUCTIONS
| React Theatre Productions was formed in 2004 by Alan Skinner. We are a Brighton based company producing mostly musical productions up to now - these have included a number of concerts and the musical Les Miserables which was awarded the NODA Accolade of Excellence for 2006/07. |
ROTTINGDEAN DRAMA SOCIETY
| The Society was founded in 1949 and performs three plays and a pantomime each year. Our venue is Rottingdean Village Hall. The Society was winner of the Challenge Cup in the Arts Council's Drama Competition in 1994, 1998 and 2000. Both established and aspiring talent are warmly invited to our auditions. |
SOUTHWICK PLAYERS
| Southwick Players are recent winners of the Brighton & Hove Arts Council's Challenge Cup for best overall production. For over 70 years we have produced plays and musicals, and now produce five shows a year ranging from serious drama to musicals and pantomimes at the wonderful Barn Theatre in Southwick. SUSSEX PLAYWRIGHTS' CLUB mail@sussexplaywrights.com | The Club exists to encourage the writing of plays, especially by local people. These plays are given a staged reading, and then constructively criticised. We meet monthly on Sunday evenings at the New Venture Theatre, Bedford Place, Brighton. |
