BRIGHTON COLLEGE ARTS
| Brighton College welcomes the public to a variety of events including: an annual winter series of classical concerts with leading international artists; several major art exhibitions each year in the Burstow Gallery; a programme of evening lectures by prominent personalities; and various other events during the Brighton Festival. |
DUPONT ART CLUB AT HOVE
| The club is a self-supporting group. There are three sessions a week at the Connaught Centre, Hove, on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings and afternoons. Membership includes beginners through to professional artists. |
PATCHAM HIGH SCHOOL
| Patcham High School has Specialist School staus for the Arts, focussing especially on English, Media and Art. We have multi-media facilities including an editing suite, digital cameras, interactive whiteboards and an internal radio station. Our resources are available for use by the local community and we promote community partnerships. |
ROTTINGDEAN PRESERVATION SOCIETY
| The Society operates The Grange Art Gallery and Museum in Rottingdean. The building was originally the Vicarage and subsequently the home of the artist, Sir William Nicholson, who renamed it The Grange. The Preservation Society is restoring The Grange which is managed by local enthusiasts. |
SOCIETY OF CATHOLIC ARTISTS (Sussex)
| The Society of Catholic Artists Regional Group started in 1976, though the Society was founded in 1929. Our members meet monthly on the first Sunday for discussions, events and support. We exhibit locally, and participate in national and international exhibitions and conferences. |
SOCIETY OF SUSSEX PAINTERS
| This is a society of painters, sculptors and engravers, founded in 1924. Membership is open to all professional artists living or working in Sussex. The Society holds an exhibition each year. |
SOUTH DOWNS ART SOCIETY
| The Society meets most Saturday afternoons in St Helen's Church Hall, Hangleton. There is no formal tuition, but help and advice is readily available from the more experienced artists. There are working sessions, demonstrations and sketching outdoors in summer. Exhibitions are held from time to time. |
SUSSEX GUILD info@the sussexguild.co.uk | The Guild was founded in 1970, and aims to raise standards in the field of applied art, increase public awareness of fine craftsmanship and promote members' work. Craftspeople who live and work in Sussex, whose work has been approved by a selection panel, are offered membership. |
SUSSEX SCRIBES
| Sussex Scribes aims to inspire people interested in calligraphy, lettering and handwriting to meet together, and is open to all standards from beginners to professionals. The majority of meetings are one-day workshops led by tutors of national standing. Topics are broad, though related to calligraphy and include drawing, media, watercolour, composition and bookbinding. |
SUSSEX WATERCOLOUR SOCIETY
| The members are practising watercolourists who aim to equal the standards of London societies. Membership is generally by application and submission of six works; well known artists are invited to join. |
