The 2024 BHAC Art Show of April 17th – 20th was very successful. We had 148 entries of paintings, sculpture, embroidery and mixed media (144 last year). In addition, 60 unframed pictures were available for purchase from browsers. 13 works were sold.
The weather was amazingly kind to us – no rain – and we had 840 visitors over the 4 days (800 last year). As with previous years, almost half the visitors came on Saturday.
“Westminster Bridge” by Victor Perkins of Dupont Art Club was the winner of the People’s Choice trophy and a bottle of champagne. He will hold the trophy for one year.
“Memory Knots” by David King of the Adur Art Collective was the runner up in the People’s Choice competition. (He was last year’s winner). David also received a bottle of champagne.
“Plastic Seagull II” by Candy Medusa of the Adur Art Collective, was chosen for the poster advertising the art show. She received a bottle of wine.
“Brighton Lanes Miniature” by Alan Brooks of the Attic Art Club, was used on the private view invitation. He received a bottle of wine.

To all our gorgeous Visual Arts member groups who provided the wonderful works of art and helped out as organisers and invigilators.
To the wonderful committee and volunteers of BHAC, and most especially Vivienne McKay for organising the event!
