Brighton & Hove Arts Council is looking for someone to set up a fundraising operation
Have a read through the following information and if it appeals to you please contact us via the form at the bottom of this page, and we can arrange an informal meeting!
About BHAC and funding
The charity is run by a team of volunteers whose aim is to support and promote the local not-for-profit arts community.
Our member groups are involved in fine art, music, theatre, poetry, written word and other arts areas. Every quarter we publish the Arts Diary where our members list their events, and this is widely available across the area. Demand for this publication is growing and we would like to increase distribution volume.
We also run an annual Art Show, a Drama Competition and every two years a Poetry Festival. In addition, we are planning a new music event in 2024.
All these activities cost money to run and whilst we receive membership fees from Group and private members, plus small grants, we do need to raise more money.
As our fundraiser you will be provided with details of past sponsors and an extensive list of targets.
Skills required
Some experience of fundraising and/or bid writing in the nonprofit arts sector, or similar, is desirable.
Benefits
- Playing a vital role in enabling BHAC to further enrich the arts in the local community.

Practical Considerations
- You will be working a few hours a week volunteering from home.
- Attendance at some of the committee meetings (around 8 meetings per year) would be an advantage, but they are not dull!
- Meetings are held in the early evening, in Brighton, around 8 times a year.
When do I need to be available?
