Coastline Harmony in search for a new Musical Director!

Coastline Harmony (24 April 2019)

Southwick-based singing group Coastline Harmony is looking for a new MD as they sadly bid farewell this summer to their encouraging, funny and patient leader, Miguel Fernandes.

****

As Oscar Wilde almost said:  “To lose one MD may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose two looks like carelessness”.

First Debbie left us for the sun-kissed shores of Cyprus and now, after six wonderful years, our marvellous MD is moving on, too far away to carry on being our fearless leader.

So the hunt is on once more to replace the irreplaceable.  Coastline is an all-female voice group of around 30 members who share a love of a cappella singing.  Under Miguel’s leadership we’ve sung for many local organisations, busked on the streets of Shoreham, Brighton and Hove, supported local charities, taken part in music festivals and had singing adventures in Portugal and Prague.  We plan to travel more in 2020 and need someone with patience, skill and a sense of humour to help us achieve our goals.

Coastline rehearses every Thursday evening in Southwick from 7.15 pm to 9.30 pm and visitors are always welcome.

The successful applicant will be able to generate enthusiasm, fun and a positive attitude towards learning, as the members are mostly non-music reading and learn songs by ear using CD/mp3 learning tracks.  In return, we offer commitment, a joy of singing and warm friendship.
