A Talawa Double Bill by Testament and Kareem Parkins-Brown
Bougie Lanre’s Boulangerie is an existential poetry talk show chronicling acclaimed poet Kareem Parkins-Brown’s years working in the hospitality industry, attempting to make ends meet as a Black, working-class artist who cares more about craft than consumerism.
Love in Gravitational Waves by Testament is a two-hander that is inspired by multi-generational interviews with over 40 people that articulates the vapid nature of contemporary dating through a fast-paced comedy-drama about the forces that bring us together and push us apart. After her breakup, we follow Bronwyn; a woman who decides to exclusively date men who have the opposite views to her. It’s about love, politics, bridging the gap in a divided world… and a serial killer.
