HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE CORONAVIRUS
BY DR. JOHN FROUDE
Plagues have had a greater role in human history than wars. A hundred years ago, Homo sapiens (that’s us), suffered the Spanish Flu. The Mother of all Pandemics. We didn’t know what a virus was back then.
In the short hundred years to Covid 19 and our present circumstances, there has been a scientific renaissance beyond imagining, with phenomenal advances in our knowledge of microbes, genetics and treatment of disease to name but three disciplines.
Dr John Froude, an Infectious Disease Specialist and the author of “Plagued” to be released in the UK in 2021, wants to bring you up to date.
Part of the Local and Live mini-festival, a joint initiative between Ropetackle Arts Centre and Shoreham Wordfest, to celebrate the creativity of local writers, musicians, actors and poets and the return to live performance.
