Martin Speake – saxophone
Martin made his mark in the 1980s with the saxophone quartet Itchy Fingers, touring globally. From the late 1980s onwards he’s led many diverse projects – performing everything from interpretations of Charlie Parker standards to free improvisation and cross-cultural work incorporating Indian, Arabic and Turkish rhythms. His 2006 ECM album Change of Heart (with Paul Motian, Bobo Stenson and Mick Hutton) is among his critically acclaimed works.
