LUNCHTIME RECITALS AT ST NICHOLAS
Beautiful music in the heart of the City
26 Fumi Otsuki (violin): Fjords and Fiddles with piano accompanist Sarah Kershaw.
3 Gemma Kateb (piano): to include the pieces Debussy Images Book 1 and Mozart Fantasie in D minor.
10 Paul Terry (piano): Brighton-based composer Paul G. Terry will be playing pieces from his latest album ‘Silence is Bliss’, along with new tracks in his distinctive, melodic and powerfully moving classical style.
17 Hammig String Quartet play Schubert String Quartet in G D887. This was Schubert’s last quartet, written on a grand scale and full of contrasts – the ambiguity of major and minor, the conflicting emotions of grief and love, gentleness and storminess.
24 Richard Bowen plays the music of Latin American guitar composers: Villa Lobos, Barrios, Jobim and Lauro.
31 Olive Murray (soprano): A Sizzling Selection of Songs for Summer!
7 The John Lake Trio Plays Michel Camilo: John Lake on grand piano, Matt Casterton on bass, Simon Cambers on drums.
14 Constance Chow: flute and piano recital including works by Debussy and Poulenc.
21 Michele Roszak and Lynda Spinney: ‘Youth and Love’ and will include British, European and American songs depicting the agony and ecstasy of falling in love.
28 Katrin Heymann: ‘A summer’s cocktail’ – Mike Wilson, Katrin Heymann and Evelina Ndlovu will be performing favourite classical music by Cavallini, Fauré, Saint Saens, Clarke and Shostakovich arranged for clarinet, flute and piano – a delightful event!
