Women of Many Worlds
Sarah Drewek is a 57-year-old, self-taught figurative artist based in Alfriston. Although she has always enjoyed creating, for the past 12 years her main focus has been oil painting, alongside drawing, with a particular interest in the human form. Her work is rooted in direct observation, exploring the body as a lived, expressive presence rather than an ideal. She is drawn to natural, unguarded poses and the quiet narratives they hold. Living in Alfriston, surrounded by history and landscape, has deepened her awareness of time, character and continuity. Her practice is an act of looking closely and honouring the honesty of the figure.
