St Mary’s Church, Kemptown

St Mary’s is a serenely beautiful Victorian church, friendly and inclusive, which doubles up as an atmospheric venue with a superb acoustic for music performance and recording.  We seek to make quality music available to all for free or at affordable prices.

At various points during the year we run a series of Fine Music For Free recitals on early Saturday evenings.  The recitals are free and include complimentary refreshments afterwards, but we do ask people to give what they can in a retiring collection.  The majority of this collection is used to pay our performers a modest ‘fee’ – really a contribution towards their costs.  The remainder goes towards paying for expenses, allowing us to continue holding these events.
