What a wonderful Art Show!
The BHAC Art Show was a smash hit this year, attracting a bumper number of visitors – young and old!

We had 144 entries of paintings, stained glass, embroidery and mixed media (148 last year). In addition, 51 unframed pictures were available for purchase from browsers. 14 works were sold.
The sun was shining every day encouraging 1080 visitors over the 4 days (840 last year). As with previous years, almost half the visitors came on Saturday.

The Mayor of Brighton, Councillor Mohammed Asaduzzaman, opened our Private View with a delightful speech! He then enjoyed a tour of the exhibition accompanied by show organiser Vivienne McKay.
The People’s Choice Trophy

“Winter Fox on the Downs” by Caroline Marsland of Dupont Art Club was the winner of the People’s Choice trophy and a bottle of champagne. Caroline will hold the trophy for one year.

The runner up prize in the People’s Choice competition was shared by:
- “Getting Bitten on Ditchling Beacon” by Julia Ann Field of Patcham Arts.
- “The Corner of the Rockery” by Kateryna Slobodyanyuk of the Brighton Painting Group.
Julia and Kateryna also received a bottle of champagne.

Publicity awards
“The Good Old Brighton Pier” by Alberto Martinez Romero of the Brighton Painting Group, was chosen for the poster advertising the art show. Alberto received a bottle of wine.

“The Three Trees” by Jane Jukes of the Dupont Art Club, was used on the Private View invitation. Jane received a bottle of wine.
