Update from Brighton and Hove French Circle

Brighton & Hove French Circle  –  6th February 2021

On 13 January 15, members got together via Zoom to recall memories of being in France at Christmas time.  One member, a young au-pair at the time, had the dubious pleasure of applying ventouses (vacuum cups) to her employer’s back … as a cure for a New Year’s Eve hangover.

Two weeks later, we welcomed Émilie Perraudeau who gave us talk a directly from her home in Belgium.  The topic was 17th century playwright Molière and several of us were roped in to read short extracts of his plays.

The Zoom talks (in French, and starting at 7.30pm) listed below are free to French Circle members.  We welcome non-member guests for a small contribution of £5.00.  More details from Suzanne Hinton  s@hinton.clara.net

10 March – Brigitte Thibout  “Le Touquet Paris-Place, perle de la côte d’Opale”.

24 March – Nathalie Landroit “Les Châteaux de la Loire”.

14 April – Cédric Cabanne  “Madame Curie”

All talks are illustrated so even if your French is limited do join us and surprise yourself at how much you understand.
